DermaAngel enters the Indian Market with the first officially registered acne patch

BenQ Materials Corp, leaders in the field of material science, launched their acne patch in the Indian market. This is the first officially registered acne patch to become available in India and is marketed and distributed by KShipra Health Solutions. The acne patch, for both for men and women, is available as a day acne patch and night acne patch. The paper-thin day patch merges seamlessly with the contours of your face, making the acne invisible while it works effectively on reducing the acne, and the night patch, which is slightly thicker, works all night to heal and manage the acne.

Acne is a common skin condition often affecting not only teenagers but older people as well. In India, acne treatments make-up a considerable share of the dermatology OTC product market. The acne market has grown from US$ 48 million in 2012 to US$ 78.5 million in 2016 and is expected to grow further to US$ 164 million by 2026 with a CAGR of 7.65 per cent. Although there are many acne products available in the market, these are mainly for acne prevention and not acne management. The unique design of the DermaAngel Acne Patch makes it ideal to both manage and heal acne.

The patch works on a moist-wound healing principle, which is tremendously more effective than the healing of wounds that can first dry out. The DermaAngel’s Acne offer anti-acne treatment and constant protection – the wafer-thin and translucent daytime patch blends onto the face perfectly and is also make-up friendly. The patch has a hydrocolloid material on the inside that effectively absorbs the exudate and protects the wound from bacteria heavily reducing the chances of acne scarring.

Meeting consumers’ expectation backed by innovation is the need of the hour, feels Dr ZC Chen, Chairman & CEO of BenQ Materials. “With DermaAngel Acne patch, we will definitely revolutionise the skincare market in India,” he said. “The company expects to hold a major percentage of the acne market in India over the next two-three years. In the upcoming months, DermaAngel will be introducing other products from its skincare range.

According to Utpal Lomesh Limkar, Director, Kshipra Health Solutions, “Skincare experts who understand skin best will promote or recommend these acne patches. They are the right set of people to guide you on acne and how to prevent as well as manage it. Thankfully, these patches will be available at most dermatology clinics so you do not have to hunt them down. Once we are able to inculcate right knowledge among the consumers, in the second phase we will make the product available online on e-commerce portal.”

Dr Malavika Kohli, Director, Skin Secrets, said about DermaAngel Acne Patch, “Spot applications in the form of a patch are popular and are a quick and effective way to treat that troublesome and sudden acne spot and are safe, easy to use and can often be a life saviour.”
