Galderma recently announced the launch of an augmented reality application that will help medical aesthetic practitioners and patients to visualise skin treatments at the planning stage. With the application – Face by Galderma, aesthetic practitioners can evaluate a patient’s face in real-time.
Face by Galderma uses the company’s Five Facet Assessment that takes skin quality, facial shape, facial symmetry, facial proportions and contour into consideration along with animation and emotional expression. This will help practitioners to understand priority areas and develop a customised plan for each patient.
Galderma developed the application in collaboration with Crisalix, a leading 3D aesthetic simulation tech company. The technology was presented to the aesthetic scientific community at the International Master Course on Aging Science (IMCAS) World Congress 2023 in Paris on January 26-28.
“We developed this game-changing solution to support aesthetic practitioners and give patients a visual representation of what they can expect from the procedures included in their treatment plan. For example, the real-time injectable results feature simulates how a treatment might augment a patient’s lips, cheeks or chin,” said Gerry Muhle, Head of Global Business Unit, Aesthetics, Galderma, in a press release. “Face by Galderma offers patients a realistic visual of their results before treatment even begins, supporting them to establish treatment objectives and priorities alongside their practitioner. It gives them the freedom to make their aesthetic goals a reality.”
The application features 19 potential injectable results using products from the Galderma portfolio, letting patients see simulated visuals in real-time. Treatment options include neuromodulators, biostimulators and products from the hyaluronic acid filler range.
Face by Galderma will be available in the US and Brazil in the first half of 2023. It will be rolled out across Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Canada and Asia throughout 2023.
