Dr Swetha Dilip, a Dubai-based Celebrity Aesthetic Physician
What inspired you to explore the world of aesthetics, especially injectables?
What inspires me to keep exploring the world of injectables is the perfect amalgamation of scientific precision and artistic finesse that I get to use every day at work. As an injector, I have the opportunity to listen to my client’s goals and help them transform into their best selves. Whether it’s tweaking, modifying, correcting, or augmenting, I use a combination of science and artistry. I just want to help my clients achieve their desired results.
What’s trending globally in the injectables domain?
Patients worldwide are increasingly seeking subtle enhancements that preserve their unique features while addressing specific concerns. There is a rising focus on improving skin quality across all age groups.
Younger and male clients are increasingly seeking the latest technologies on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Specifically, biostimulators and regenerative therapies such as polynucleotides and Sculptra are becoming more popular for facial rejuvenation treatments.
With an international practitioner like yourself stepping into the beauty industry in India, how do you think you will contribute to aesthetic dermatology here?
As an international practitioner with experience in diverse aesthetic techniques across many races. I aim to bring fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to the aesthetic dermatology landscape in India.
With the constant evolution of injectables and regenerative therapies, my experience in a dynamic industry such as Dubai gives me a unique perspective to bridge the gap for my Indian clients. I have witnessed the impact of cultural preferences and expectations on the field of aesthetic medicine. Therefore, I strive to provide individualised treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
What is missing in the Indian aesthetic market?
One aspect that I feel is missing in the Indian aesthetic market is a strong emphasis on education and training for both practitioners and patients. There is a need for more awareness about safe practices, ethical standards, and the importance of individualised treatment plans.
At The White Door, we prioritise quality, efficacy, and safety to offer the same experience that clients would get in any reputable high-end clinic globally. We believe in building strong relationships with our clients and educating them about the treatments and procedures that we offer.
How does it benefit dermatologists to collaborate with salons?
Collaboration between injectors/dermatologists and spas holds immense promise for expanding outreach to a broader demographic and promoting safe beauty. Such collaborations not only augment the scope of services offered but also engender avenues for mutual referrals.
Moreover, our collaboration focuses on the cultivation of a more integrated approach towards skincare and beauty regimens. In addition, we believe in collaboration with other professionals in the field of aesthetic medicine. It can lead to the development of new and innovative treatments that can benefit our clients.
What tips would you like to share with dermatologists and aestheticians on the use of injectables?
My advice for dermatologists and aestheticians considering the use of injectables would be to prioritise patient safety above all else. It is crucial to stay updated on the latest techniques, products, and guidelines in the field of aesthetic medicine.
We’re currently in an era of tremendous transformation in the field of injectables. So, there are so many wonderful new technologies to explore. I always keep an open mind with new injectable products. However, I seek advice from my community of injectors to learn about their real-life experiences.
As professionals, we must continuously learn, unlearn, and relearn the ever-evolving concepts of beauty to provide the best possible care to our clients.
