Cama Hospital to launch low-cost gyno-cosmetic unit

Cama Hospital to launch low-cost gyno-cosmetic unit

Mumbai’s government-run Cama and Albless Hospital will become the first in Maharashtra to launch a gyno-cosmetic unit, offering intimate cosmetic procedures. The hospital aims to make these services accessible by providing them at highly subsidised rates.

Making intimate care affordable for all

This initiative aims to make such treatments — often limited to expensive private facilities — accessible to women from all socio-economic backgrounds.

Private hospitals in Mumbai have performed cosmetic gynaecological procedures for over a decade, often charging between Rs 50,000 and Rs 2 lakh. These high costs have made the treatments unaffordable for many women.

Responding to real demand

Cama Hospital plans to offer the same procedures at significantly lower prices. It will charge around ₹500 for major surgeries and ₹200 to ₹300 for minor treatments. These services are not covered by insurance, making this a landmark move toward affordability and inclusivity.

The clinic decided to propose this specialised unit after receiving a consistent stream of enquiries from patients over the last five years. The organisation identified rising demand for intimate care and submitted a formal proposal to the state health department for approval. Once approved, the unit is expected to become operational in 2026.

Range of procedures to be offered

The upcoming facility will provide a comprehensive range of both surgical and non-surgical procedures. These include:

  • Hymenoplasty (hymen reconstruction)

  • Vaginoplasty (vaginal tightening)

  • Labiaplasty (reshaping of the labia)

  • Perineoplasty (repair of the perineum)

  • Clitoral hood reduction

  • G-spot amplification

  • Laser and radiofrequency vaginal rejuvenation

  • Injectable fillers for vulvar enhancement

  • Vaginal whitening and vulvar rejuvenation

Restoring confidence

Cama Hospital is launching this service to make intimate cosmetic care accessible to all women. It aims to challenge the belief that such procedures are only for the elite. The unit will focus on both aesthetics and helping women regain confidence while improving intimate health in a safe setting.

Inclusive care

This initiative reflects a progressive shift, where personal empowerment and body autonomy are becoming central to women’s well-being. Cama Hospital’s affordable gyno-cosmetic unit could inspire similar initiatives across India in the coming years.
