Hugel Inc. has officially launched its botulinum toxin brand Letybo in India, marking another milestone in its global expansion strategy. The company announced its market entry during the Global Aesthetics Summit (GAS), held in Goa from 19 to 21 July.
India is emerging as a key growth market for medical aesthetics. Rising disposable incomes, a growing middle class and increasing interest in cosmetic procedures continue to drive demand. However, botulinum toxin treatments remain underpenetrated compared with the country’s population of approximately 1.5 billion, presenting significant opportunities for growth.
Hugel aims to secure a 9 per cent share of the Indian medical aesthetics market this year.
Focus on brand awareness and clinical education
At the summit, Hugel partnered with its local distributor, Aakaar Medical, to strengthen brand visibility and expand its network of key opinion leaders (KOLs).
Benjamin Chan, one of Hugel’s Australian KOLs, presented the clinical advantages of Letybo during the conference. He highlighted the product’s narrow diffusion characteristics, which help deliver predictable treatment outcomes for practitioners.
The company is using educational programmes to introduce the product and build confidence among healthcare professionals entering the Indian market.
Launch activities continue across India
Following the summit, Hugel will conduct a dedicated product launch event and a series of hands-on workshops with Aakaar Medical through 24 July. These initiatives are designed to familiarise aesthetic practitioners with the product while supporting wider adoption.
India to support global growth strategy
Hugel views India as an important market for its long-term international expansion, driven by growing consumer interest in K-Aesthetics.
“Our goal is to leverage Hugel’s position as Korea’s leading botulinum toxin brand over the past 10 years to strengthen our marketing activities,” said Chang Doo-hyun, CEO of Hugel. “We also aim to establish India as a new driver of our global growth.”
The company expects its India expansion to strengthen its international presence while capitalising on the country’s growing demand for medical aesthetics treatments.
