SharpLight Technologies enters India’s medical aesthetics market

SharpLight Technologies has launched its India operations as the medical aesthetics company targets the country’s growing dermatology market. The company announced the launch at CosdermIndia 2026 in Mumbai. The 29th annual congress ran from August 6 to 9.

SharpLight brings more than two decades of research and development in light and energy-based aesthetic treatments. Its India strategy focuses on doctor-led clinics and technologies designed for diverse skin tones and treatment needs.

The company’s platform uses patented Dynamic Pulse Control (DPC) technology. The system allows practitioners to adjust energy delivery during treatments. SharpLight says this approach gives doctors greater control over treatment parameters. It also supports multiple aesthetic applications through a single platform.

The company is positioning its India offering around clinical flexibility and operational efficiency. Its portfolio covers hair removal, pigmentation, acne and skin tightening. It also supports treatments involving body contouring, scar resurfacing, tattoo removal and vascular concerns.

India becomes a strategic growth market

SharpLight’s India entry comes as demand for medical aesthetics continues to expand across the country. The company estimates India’s medical aesthetics market is growing at 8 to 9 per cent annually. Doctor-led dermatology clinics account for a significant share of treatment spending.

Hair removal remains a major treatment category. However, demand for body contouring is also increasing. Younger consumers and male patients are contributing to changing market demand. These trends are creating opportunities for technology providers serving professional clinics.

SharpLight says its systems have supported more than 100 million treatments globally. The company operates across more than 60 countries and works with over 5,000 clinics.

Platform targets diverse clinical requirements

SharpLight is introducing its Rapid platform and OmniMax systems to Indian clinics. The OmniMax range combines multiple technologies within integrated workstations. The flagship OmniMax S4 supports more than 60 treatment types.

The Rapid range provides specialised systems for specific clinical applications. Products cover hair removal, pigmentation, veins, redness, skin tightening and body contouring. The company is also promoting its Rapid Phantom diode laser platform for hair removal.

SharpLight says the platform supports different skin types and uses dual-mode energy delivery. The company positions the system around treatment speed, comfort and clinical control.

Upgradeability supports clinic expansion

SharpLight is also highlighting the commercial flexibility of its equipment. Clinics can begin with a Rapid system and later expand their capabilities. They can upgrade to broader platforms instead of replacing their existing equipment.

The company says its systems do not require disposable treatment parts. This can help clinics manage treatment costs as patient volumes increase. The business model reflects SharpLight’s focus on long-term clinic partnerships. The company aims to support practices beyond the initial equipment purchase.

Training and support form part of the offering

SharpLight plans to combine equipment deployment with clinical education and technical support. Its India programme includes classroom training and hands-on sessions with clinical trainers. Certified clinics will also receive access to online learning resources.

The company plans to offer expert webinars, live demonstrations and refresher sessions. Its support programme will also include technical assistance and warranty options. SharpLight will initially expand sales, service and training coverage across major Indian metropolitan markets.

The company also plans to use India as a base for broader expansion across Asia. With its local launch, SharpLight is positioning India as a key market for its global medical aesthetics business.
