Surat hosted MIDDERMACON 2025, the 13th Midterm Annual Conference of the Annual Conference of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists & Leprologists (IADVL). Avadh Utopia Club hosted nearly 800 delegates from across India, establishing Gujarat’s first large-scale dermatology conference in history. The landmark gathering marked a historic milestone for the state’s medical community.
Debating dermatology
The conference theme, “Debate in Dermatology: Where Science and Opinions Collide”, drove delegates to rigorously challenge and examine established practices. It encouraged specialists to question traditional beliefs, critically assess clinical evidence, and explore bold, innovative ideas shaping the future of dermatology.
Renowned dermatologists delivered keynote addresses, while panel discussions and interactive paper and poster sessions kept delegates engaged. The dynamic programme promoted active idea exchange and sparked fresh insights in dermatology, ensuring a deeper understanding of evolving practices.
Advanced procedures
Doctors honed their skills in cutting-edge procedures such as Botox, Fillers, Lasers, Chemical Peels, Hair Transplant, and Vitiligo Surgery. They also mastered advanced techniques in Thread Lifting, Skin Boosters, and AI-driven dermatology tools. Specialised modules on Dermatosurgery, Body Contouring, and Exosomes Therapy highlighted the conference’s strong focus on uniting aesthetics with clinical science.
The workshops went beyond theory, equipping practitioners with practical skills to translate directly into patient care. Delegates explored regenerative treatments like PRP and exosome therapy, along with energy-based devices such as lasers and RF systems. They also practised minimally invasive techniques for hair restoration and skin rejuvenation.
Ripple effects
While the event centred on dermatologists, its ripple effects reached the public. Patients stand to benefit from more effective solutions for scarring, pigment disorders, hair loss, and skin ageing. By showcasing technologies once confined to metro hospitals, the conference underscored Surat’s rising profile as a hub for advanced medical innovation.
MIDDERMACON 2025 confirmed that India is not just keeping pace but leading in dermatology and aesthetic medicine.
