Alkem launches patented ginsenoside exosome hair growth serum

Alkem launches patented ginsenoside exosome hair growth serum

Alkem Laboratories has launched Renocia Exo™, a hair growth serum based on ginsenoside phyto-exosomes. The company describes the product as India’s first patented ginsenoside exosome-based hair growth serum.

Renocia Exo™ combines ginsenoside phyto-exosomes, biomimetic peptides, copper peptides and regenerative actives. The formulation aims to support hair follicle health, scalp health and the natural hair growth cycle.

A focus on hair follicle biology

Alkem developed the serum around the underlying biology of the hair follicle. The company said this approach goes beyond targeting visible hair growth alone. According to Alkem, hair loss has become a growing dermatological concern in India. The company said the condition affects both ageing adults and younger people.

Alkem linked the trend to several factors, including genetics, lifestyle changes and environmental stressors. Changing health patterns may also contribute to the increasing prevalence of hair loss. The company said hair loss involves several biological mechanisms within the hair follicle. These include follicular miniaturisation, altered cellular signalling, oxidative stress and inflammation.

Changes within the follicular microenvironment can also influence progressive hair thinning. Alkem said these factors have driven the need for more comprehensive approaches to hair restoration.

A multi-targeted approach

Sandeep Singh, Managing Director, Alkem, said hair restoration science has evolved significantly over the past decade. He noted that research has also improved understanding of the mechanisms behind progressive hair thinning.

Renocia Exo™ brings multiple regenerative technologies into a single daily topical therapy. Alkem said the formulation supports several biological processes linked to healthy follicle function. The serum also aims to support multiple signalling pathways involved in hair follicle activity. The company said this may help create an environment that supports healthier and stronger hair over time.

Unlike conventional topical approaches, Renocia Exo™ does not focus solely on stimulating visible hair growth. Instead, Alkem said it targets interconnected processes involved in maintaining follicular health.

Formulation designed for regular use

The product features a lightweight formulation designed for regular use. According to Alkem, it contains no alcohol, sulphates, silicones, parabens or mineral oil. The company recommends using Renocia Exo™ as part of dermatologist-guided hair loss management. This positioning places the product within a broader clinical approach to managing hair loss.

Expanding regenerative hair care

With the launch, Alkem is expanding its dermatology portfolio with a regenerative hair care offering. The company said the product reflects its focus on translating emerging scientific developments into therapeutic innovations.

The launch also highlights the growing focus on regenerative technologies within hair restoration. Exosome-based approaches have gained wider attention as researchers explore new ways to support follicular activity.

For Alkem, Renocia Exo™ represents an effort to bring multiple regenerative ingredients together in one topical formulation. The company said the product addresses evolving needs in hair loss management through a multi-targeted approach.
