Alkem Laboratories has launched Renocia Exo, a next-generation hair regeneration therapy for hair follicle health and vitality. The company describes Renocia Exo as India’s first patented Ginsenoside Exosome-based hair growth serum.
The launch expands Alkem’s dermatology portfolio and adds a regenerative approach to its hair loss offerings.
Addressing the biology of hair loss
Hair loss affects both ageing adults and younger people, with several factors contributing to progressive hair thinning. Alkem identified genetics, lifestyle changes, environmental stressors and evolving health patterns among these contributing factors.
The company said hair loss involves multiple biological mechanisms rather than a single process. These mechanisms include follicular miniaturisation, altered cellular signalling, oxidative stress and inflammation.
Changes within the follicular microenvironment can also influence hair follicle function. Alkem said this broader understanding calls for more comprehensive approaches to hair loss management.
Multi-targeted regenerative formulation
Renocia Exo combines several regenerative technologies within a single daily therapy. Its formulation includes Ginsenoside phyto-exosomes, biomimetic peptides, copper peptides and stem cell-supportive actives.
The formulation targets multiple signalling pathways associated with hair follicle activity. It also aims to support follicular vitality, scalp health and the natural hair growth cycle.
Alkem said this approach differs from conventional topical products that mainly focus on visible hair growth. The company designed Renocia Exo to support several interconnected biological processes linked to healthy follicle function.
It also seeks to create a favourable environment for healthier and stronger hair over time.
Designed for regular use
The serum features a lightweight formulation designed for regular use. According to Alkem, Renocia Exo contains no alcohol, sulphates, silicones, parabens or mineral oil. The company said patients can use the product as part of dermatologist-guided hair loss management.
This positioning places the product within the growing focus on personalised and science-led hair loss care.
Alkem expands its dermatology portfolio
Sandeep Singh, Managing Director, Alkem, said hair restoration science has evolved significantly over the past decade. He noted that scientific understanding of progressive hair thinning has also expanded.
According to Singh, researchers now recognise several biological processes behind progressive hair loss. He highlighted follicular miniaturisation, cellular signalling changes, oxidative stress and inflammation. He also pointed to alterations within the follicular microenvironment.
Focus on follicular health
The company positions the new product around follicular biology rather than hair growth alone. This approach reflects the broader shift toward multi-targeted strategies in hair loss management.
Alkem said the launch supports its focus on translating emerging scientific developments into therapeutic innovations. The company intends to address changing patient needs through its expanding dermatology portfolio.
Renocia Exo adds a new regenerative technology platform to Alkem’s existing hair loss offerings.
