Skin Rejuvenation with Combination of Chemical Peel and Botox?

To achieve youthful, radiant skin, chemical peels and injections of botulinum toxin are popular choices for addressing various skin concerns. With their combined power, they offer a promising frontier of skin rejuvenation. They can combat stubborn pigmentation, refine skin texture and tone, and help you achieve the perfect look by targeting multiple skin ageing factors.

Researchers have recently delved into the realm of synergy, seeking to unlock the full potential of dermatological interventions. A groundbreaking study explored the fusion of chemical peels and neurotoxins, such as the well-known botulinum toxin (popularly referred to as Botox). The results are nothing short of amazing, offering us a tantalising glimpse into the future of skincare.

So, are you intrigued by this fascinating exploration of science and aesthetics? Join us as we delve deeper into this groundbreaking synergy and redefine the standards of skin rejuvenation.

Purpose of the study

Generational & Cosmetic Dermatology in California examined the effectiveness and patient satisfaction with a new combination treatment. The study sought to determine if the combined treatment improved outcomes without unintended side effects.

The methodology

More than 69 per cent of the 24 survey participants, aged 30 to 70, identified as people of colour. After a VI Peel (Vitality Institute) with five or six layers at one-minute intervals, each subject received injectable Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA, Allergan).

The results of this study

After just one month of treatment, noticeable enhancements were observed in multiple skin parameters. The wrinkle severity scale scores dropped by 60 per cent, while the uniformity of pigment and skin tone scale scores improved by 59 per cent and 70 per cent, respectively.

Moreover, subjective evaluations through participant surveys showed an increase in satisfaction across all skin appearance measures.

The satisfaction parameters of the participant

After receiving treatment, participants expressed a significant increase in their satisfaction levels concerning sunspots, wrinkles, and skin texture. The improvement was particularly notable from baseline to day 30 post-treatment.

All subjects experienced a sense of skin improvement, and 96 per cent were willing to undertake the therapy again.

The safety profile

Researchers found no serious side effects from the combined treatment. Since effective treatment requires no side effects, this innovative approach is safe and acceptable.

In conclusion

Impressive skin appearance results can be achieved with a mix of chemical peels and botulinum toxin on the same day. Not only can this new technique solve several dermatological issues, but its effects last for a long time.

These results open the door to dermatological treatment standardisation, which will improve patient safety. By implementing complementary therapies, dermatologists can offer comprehensive solutions that meet the needs of a wide range of patients. This ensures greater patient satisfaction and well-being.
