The 8th Emirates Dermatology Society Annual Conference 2024 recently wrapped up at the InterContinental Dubai – Festival City Hotel. In dermatology and aesthetic medicine, the show proved a big deal.
The event attracted over 500 dermatologists, cosmetologists, and laser specialists from around the globe. It offered a unique platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration.
Under the leadership of Dr Muna Al Murrawi, President of the Emirates Dermatology Society, the conference delivered an extensive scientific programme. Over 85 expert-led sessions which were for three days, covering a wide range of topics essential to modern dermatology.
Moreover, participants delved into specialised areas such as hair and nail disorders, acne, skin cancer, and women’s health in dermatology.

A major highlight was the focus on new treatment techniques. The sessions covered advances in hair transplantation, skin tumour treatments, and the growing use of lasers for various skin conditions.
Discussions highlighted laser therapies for treating pigmentation, burns, varicose veins, tattoos, psoriasis, vitiligo, eczema, and fungal infections. This highlighted their growing role in dermatology.

As the largest dermatology conference in the Middle East, the event provided a key platform for international experts to exchange knowledge and experiences. Speakers from countries such as the USA, UK, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Singapore, India, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, and the UAE took part in the event. They shared insights on the latest treatment methods.
The exhibition alongside the sessions featured over 29 companies from around the world. These companies showcased the latest technologies and devices for diagnosing skin diseases, laser treatments, and cosmetic procedures. Attendees got a firsthand look at the future of dermatology and aesthetics.
