In a bid to unlock dermatological excellence, CeraVe has made its debut in the Indian market. The global skincare sensation plans on partnering with dermatologists to share the beauty of skin care with Indian consumers.
In a groundbreaking initiative to revolutionise skincare in India, the renowned brand, CeraVe has entered the Indian markets. The company recently organised the ‘Skin Barrier Science – A Dermatological Summit’ in Mumbai. This summit brought together key dermatologists, experts, and partners from across India and the globe. The summit shed light on the critical need for accessible and dermatologically recommended skincare solutions.
Bridging gaps in Indian skincare
Rami Itani, Director of L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty at L’Oréal India, expressed enthusiasm about the new launch. She stated, “We are thrilled to introduce the L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty division in India, commencing with the globally trusted CeraVe brand. Recognising India’s low ratio of dermatologists to consumers, we aim to provide effective and safe dermatological solutions. Our focus is on meeting the rising consumer demand for science-backed skincare recommended by healthcare professionals, thereby ensuring access to expert dermatological care.”
Restorative formulations
CeraVe’s distinctive formula, developed in collaboration with dermatologists, features 3 Essential Ceramides that restore the skin’s natural barrier. Utilising exclusive MVE (Multivesicular Emulsion) technology, this formula ensures long-lasting hydration. CeraVe offers a comprehensive portfolio, ranging from gentle cleansers to specialised treatments. The brand also offers clinically proven solutions addressing various skin concerns. Clinical trials on Indian skin, specifically mild to moderate cases of atopic dermatitis, validate CeraVe’s efficacy.
An innovative educational experience zone was led by Dr Namita Misra from L’Oréal France. It highlighted the global and Indian science and research behind CeraVe. Dr Muneeb Shah, a globally renowned US-based dermatologist, made a holographic real-time interactive appearance. He provided a masterclass on bringing dermatological expertise closer to consumers.
International dermatologist Dr Giuseppe Micali emphasised the significance of Skin Barrier Science and the role of Ceramides in restoring the skin barrier. Dr Neena Khanna, a senior Indian dermatologist, presented results from a local clinical trial in India, demonstrating CeraVe’s efficacy on Indian skin. At the Summit, a panel discussion delved into prevalent skin conditions in India and the role of ceramides in enhancing overall skin health.
CeraVe products will be available at dermatology clinics, chemist stores, e-pharmacies, and other beauty online portals like Nykaa. The product is to be listed under the dermatological banner. The brand’s success in the US, as per IQVIA’s Provoice Survey, underscores its global impact. Clinical tests on 120 Indian consumers in June 2023 further validate CeraVe’s effectiveness on Indian skin, particularly the Moisturising Cream.
