L’Oréal India launches La Roche-Posay for sensitive skin

L’Oréal India has launched La Roche-Posay, a dermatologist-recommended skincare brand, to expand its dermo-cosmetics portfolio.

The initial product range features 4 key lines Mela B3 Serum, which uses Melasyl™ to reduce dark spots and melasma. Anthelios provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection for sensitive skin. Cicaplast supports skin barrier recovery. Effaclar targets acne-prone skin with specially formulated care.

Science-backed skincare

La Roche-Posay has established itself through collaboration with dermatologists to create skincare solutions specifically for sensitive skin. Each La Roche-Posay product contains Thermal Spring Water, rich in selenium, delivering antioxidant benefits and soothing sensitive skin.

Rami Itani, Director of L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty in India, highlights La Roche-Posay’s 50-year legacy of skincare innovation. The brand consistently develops next-generation formulations that deliver effective results. It collaborates closely with the medical community to address patient needs and advance dermatological care.

Addressing skin concerns

In 2023, the L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty Division also entered the Indian market with the introduction of CeraVe.

The Indian demographic faces a notable prevalence of skin issues such as hyperpigmentation and dark spots, driven by factors including UV exposure and hormonal changes. La Roche-Posay launched the Mela B3 Serum to tackle these concerns. The serum features Melasyl™, developed after 18 years of research by L’Oréal’s R&I team. The serum targets excessive melanin production to reduce pigmentation and dark spots. Clinical studies show it can diminish up to 90% of persistent cases, offering a science-backed solution for Indian skin.

Efficacy and safety

Dr Jaishree Sharad, cosmetic dermatologist and Medical Director at Skinfinitii Aesthetic & Laser Clinic in Mumbai, recognises La Roche-Posay as a benchmark in dermatological skincare. She highlights that the brand balances product efficacy with skin tolerance.

Its formulations deliver effective results even for the most sensitive skin. Dr Jaishree asserts that the brand’s formulations, rooted in decades of rigorous clinical research, offer reliable solutions even for the most sensitive skin types.
