Thread facelifts are rapidly gaining popularity

A thread facelift is a procedure where temporary sutures create a subtle but visible lift in the skin; so instead of removing a patient’s loose facial skin surgically, a cosmetic surgeon instead, simply suspends it by using medical thread to ‘stitch up’ parts of it. This type of surgery does not involve incisions, or deep-tissue handling, making the down-time, and recovery much easier for a patient, as compared to facelift surgery.

Thread facelifts are gaining popularity over surgical procedures due to the increasing global demand for non-surgical procedures. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons 2019 report, the facelift procedure holds fifth position in the top five cosmetic surgical procedures performed in the United States with around 123,685 procedures performed in 2019 in the US.

The aesthetics market is also seeing a number of training courses to provide better quality treatment with thread facelifts – a trend that is expected to rise in the future and which may boost the thread facelift market further.

Despite being quite a new procedure, thread lift is one of the fastest-growing cosmetic procedures in the US, which is one of the largest markets for minimally invasive aesthetic procedures in the world. Additionally, the Asia Pacific region is declared as being one of the fastest-growing regions in the aesthetic threads market because of an increasing ageing population. As per the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery 2019 report, around 80,304 procedures of facial rejuvenation and 7,488 facelift procedures were performed in 2019 in India.
